After my mom telling me that I look horrible with make up and that I look better without using foundation .... I started to wonder~
truth is my acne was subsided by a lot, I'm not covered by cystic acne... I can actually count how many active pimples I have, I do have a lot of blackheads especially on my nose and forehead but other than that my face is so so much better, yet I have a lot red marks and scars and big pores, really deep scars that makes it look as if I still have acne and it bothers me.
That's the only reason why I wore make-up, I felt like makeup covered up my imperfections and in fact it sort of does but I just hate how it looks it's never the right color I have a weird color to match, it leaves me so greasy looking and doesn't last enough, it turns my red scars into a brown-ish color and in sinks into my skin as I have deep scars it just makes them look worse. But I always went back to make up because it made me feel more secure and covered up!!
But I came to the realization that indeed it just made me look so goddamn awful, as of now i'm wearing a powder really mildly to control the oil, i think i look so much better that way. Also I yesterday I received some mineral make-up samples that I need to try to find my color shade, all in all I feel like my skin looks so much more better, less irritated and more glowly and healthier.
I'm not gonna be the kinda of person who blames their acne on make-up because tbh I think makeup only intervenes with the healing process but I do feel better wearing less.
Of course I can't leave make-up completely because I still need to cover at least some of my ugliness lol and I do enjoy changing my look, so I looked up some natural/organic/vegan make up lines.
Now no way in hell I believe everything companies advertise is truth, I'm not naive! yes there's some things that are better that regular make-up but not everything, is important to read the labels and search about the ingredients and also i'm not rich enough to expend so much money in make-up so I try to rationalize and be smart about my decisions.
I would say...look for balance, not too much, maybe a hump to make u feel better, and of course less is better.
as of now I feel compiled to trow away all those foundations and make-up i don't really use but my mom is not letting me lol wth

tonymoly cutie bb cream ~
will be doing a review of this bb cream ^^
as many of you may know bb creams are sort of multi-purpose foundations which appeal to many it is technically more convenient because that way you don't need to layer everything on your face. Personally what I like about bb creams is their high SPF content as someone who uses acne treatment I have to maintain my acne protected from the sun (or it will get worst), but I also can't do without makeup !!
I haven't tried many bb creams tbh I will try to purchase more tho because I do love the oil control~ one of my major concerns is as many the shade and color. They are way too light and they leave a cast exactly how when you put sunscreen in your face which is kinda weird.
For your info I'm around NC27-NC30 (mac) shade so I'm more on the tanned side (i live in Florida people i can't avoid the sun), and bb creams are kinda hard to match that. I've heard however that some creams oxidize to match you skin tone so hopefully i'll be able to try that!
onto the review:
Tonymoly Cutie Beauty BB Cream Tomboy Chris (which is for oily skin).SPF 36 PA++
according to the package:
The package is very cute you would never know is a foundation xD it has kitties on the front, contains 30gr i na squeeze tube.
Fragance I can't explain the smell but it's noticeable when you put it on, it goes away in like 30minutes. medicine-ish or something idk
Remember there's 3 version of this BB cream I'm only talking about the one for oily skin (blue tube, tomboy chris).
I haven't had any bad reactions to this bb cream, and when I wash my face there's not much let's say make up to wash off because the amount you need to use is very small just a pea size. To correct my acne marks I use a concealer.
Color is light i would say nc20-25 it oxidize a little bit to match more ur skin color and it has pink undertones while i don't mind it to be lighter than my skin, the pink undertones bother me i'm a neutral undertone... finish is more on the dewy side imho I would sort of look shiny/glow-y ~ ....I would like this bb cream if it was a darker color !!! and that's basically the reason why I'll keep on looking for a better bb cream.
btw. Tonymoly package comes in english too so if you are afraid of what are the ingredients no problem I have them right here:
the good:
oil control, leaves skin soft, blendable, a little goes long way, high spf, cute package.
the bad:
sheer coverage, strong smell, patchy for dry spots, color too light for my skin tone, dewy look.
So there u go guys hopefully, I helped out someone out there to make the right decision :)

according to the package:
This multi-functional BB cream with non-comedogenic ingredients is safe for sensitive skin as well as delivering anti-wrinkle, whitening and sun protection effects. And this bb cream makes the skin naturally radiant. Is very sheer and bendable, so if you are looking for good coverage this is not the one tbh, it's constency is more like a tinted moisturizer, it definitely leaves my skin soft to the touch. Oil control is not bad at all, I do need to blot but remember I'm very oily, but it doesn't rub off so you can blot and just put some powder on top again and all is good. Is not good for dry skin it would live u patchy sometimes my acne treatment leave my sky dry in some parts and this is not good for that at all.

acne skincare ~
Before I do any makeup review, I'll talk about what time of skin I have:
I have acne-prone and oily skin :(
I started getting acne at the end of my16s beginning of my 17s which sucks because I had pretty much clear complexion for most of my teenage years in which i never really paid attention of things like skin-care and what not so when started to get acne I had to juggle that with me getting into college and of course college took most of my time which lead to me not caring about my face that much which resulted into a lot of scarring -_-
So yeah I have a lot of scarring due to acne, my acne has toned down quite a lot tho!!!! yet I still have oily skin and really enlarged pores (result of acne), a lot of redness on my cheek area, some dry spots idk and dark marks too.
What do I use as skincare, I've been to the dermatologist I've tried different methods and what not which at that time gave so and so results... I've decided to stop going to the dermatologist coz I feel he wasn't really helping that much, after a long time I found one of my prescribed gels (Ziana) for acne and since it hasn't expired yet I've continued to use it combined with BP and yep I feel like my skin has gotten so much better, I do get some pimples but really different from what I had before!
It doesn't really help my blackheads tho...... so yeah I still have that.
For acne wash: I currently use clean&clear Continuous control acne cleanser with 10% BP but is too strong for my skin so I don't really 'massage' my face with it. Too drying. Plus I like cleanser which I can lather up and well this really feels more like a cream cleanser.
Toner: I use the Neutrogena Rapid Clear 2 in 1 toner, I would say even tho I really like this stuff it really is not a toner and it's more like an astringent it contains too much alcohol to be a toner if you have active pimples it would definitely sting but I don't really have them anymore and I've gone used to the alcohol level, it contains salicylic acid (SA doesn't do anything to my face tho) but not many know that it contains an small amount of Glycol Acid which helps with fading scars so if you are more worried about acne marks (not scars) then this is a pretty good toner. If u have active acne I recommend u to use an alcohol-free toner.
Moisturizer: I'm pretty sure that a lot of oily skin people are gonna tell me that they don't need any more 'moisture' to their face but let me tell u about it, a good moisturizer will help ur acne to heal better and faster especially if you are using things like BP or salicylic acid, but you have to get the right moisturizer if you have oily skin choose a moisturizer that mattifies or controls shine and of course is better if it has SPF that way you can put it under ur makeup.
I really love Mary Kate's Velocity moisturizer results and even tho it doesn't contained anything like BP or SA it really helps acne. My only problem with this moisturizer is that is very sticky and I don't really like that feeling it makes me too shiny imo.
I also use Clean & Clear finishes mattifying moisturizer with SPF15, I have to be honest I don't feel like this moisturizes my face at all but it definitely helps control shine so I put this under my make up.
Weekly mask:
I've learn to love Zamian Gold Cacao Pack / Mask, I really don't know if it's my skin healing by itself or because of this mask but I feel like my scars have faded a little because of it???. In either case I really love using this mask coz it smells really like dark chocolate *yummy!!!! it also contains gold but not a lot sometimes I can see the gold dust that's left on my fingers after I the mask on.
As with many other mask I can't let this sit around in my face for long periods of time or my skin will get really irritated so I usually live it up to 10 minutes, depending on the condition of your skin this mask does sting! so beware of that.
That's pretty much my skincare routine I have tried many many products and still do ~!!!
